Video Tagger renames files in batches using metadata matches from TMDB. Before anything is changed, you see a full preview. After applying, a persistent undo record lets you revert single files or the entire batch.
What you can rename
- Movies:
Movie Name (Year).ext - TV episodes:
Show Name - S01E02 - Episode Title.ext - Season folders and special episodes.
How the batch rename works
- Select the files or folders you want to clean up.
- Match them to TMDB titles.
- Pick a naming template (Plex, Jellyfin, Kodi, Emby, or custom).
- Preview every new filename in the app.
- Apply the rename. Sidecar files are created at the same time.
Safe to experiment
Every batch apply is recorded. You can undo immediately or weeks later — even after restarting the app. Original filenames are restored exactly as they were.
